She came back to the music world full voiced and eager to learn. Because her range was extensive and she possessed a rare pure soprano voice, her teachers concentrated their efforts on classical music, focusing on opera. Extensive training with such renowned teachers as Edwin McArthur (Metropolitan Opera Conductor and accompanist to such legends as Kirsten Flagstad, Lauritz Melchior & Nelson Eddy) and currently Joan Kobin in New York City (students include Van Johnson, Barbara Cook, Eileen Fulton) not only taught her a wide repertoire ranging from Wagner to Mozart and Gershwin to Billie Holiday, but emotional focus and simplicity.
Although she has sung in concert from Finland to Boston with stops in Spain and New York, she has lately reconnected with her early passion with such greats as Ella Fitzgerald and Barbara Cook and has embarked on a new journey. As she does with opera, she brings rich interpretation, lovely sound, and a love of her art to all that she sings. She is finding that her current focus on cabaret and jazz enables her most fully to do what she loves best - to sing to you from the heart.
Marty has been happily married for many years to her husband Angelo (hence Angelmar) who has been, in her words, "my silent supporter of my music all these years both spiritually and financially."
